Holy cow. That's a novel dare with SEVEN THOUSAND PARTICIPANTS.
"The mind boggles" doesn't even begin to cover it.
I too would like to hear Epstein's reaction. :)

Yeah. I was thinking...I wonder if anything 'good' comes out of it.
And then, I thought, you know, just the creative energy of all those people working on all those novels is amazing and kind of wonderful.

It is amazing and wonderful.
One of my Friends on Livejournal joined. She gives such good post--at times riveting, beautifully written accounts of events in her life. I'm glad some of that talent for making words will be channeled into fiction. The results could be great.
I haven't seen any editors quaking in fear over the potential ramifications for the slush pile, yet. :)
